MARGIE HOLLIDAY BIOGRAPHY
Margie was born Margarita Guerra, in San Antonio, Texas, on November 7, 1940. She is the second of six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Manuel M. Guerra of San Antonio, Texas.
It was in 1961 when Margie's mother, Lucia, received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior that Margie began to be influenced by the drastic change in her mother's life. Lucy, Margie’s younger sister, had already made a
commitment to give her life to the Lord. It was not long after that Margie also gave her heart, and along with her mother and sister they grew together in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
As the years passed, Margie's mother, who had been studying for the ministry, was given her credentials by the
denomination and was assigned to co-pastor at a church across town. A short time after, the members of the
Guerra family each went their own way and served in God's work in other churches and denominations.
Margie was married to Eugene Holliday, but she became a widow in 2006 after her husband succumbed to a long illness.
It was in 2004 that Margie felt she must make a deeper commitment to God's work so she enrolled in a class that taught a more advanced teaching of the Bible to lay persons. Her family can attest to the change that was taking place in her life.
Two of Margie's four brothers, Manny and Rudy Guerra, had careers as professional musicians. The elder brother, Manny, who is a music producer, took note of Margie's deep commitment to God's service and began to entertain the thought of recording his sister singing those songs of yesteryear that had been such a blessing to him and others. In August 2010, Manny shared his thoughts with Margie and she became more interested and decided to pursue the opportunity even though she had no recording experience and had never stepped inside a recording studio. They completed the project on Monday, October 1, 2012.
This work is a small token of love to our Father God, and his precious Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that God's Holy Spirit will lift your spirit, and bring you joy as you listen to some of the most spiritually inspired songs ever written.
Along with being a devoted daughter and sister, Margie is a mother to four children, a grandmother to 13 grandchildren, and a great grandmother to two great grandchildren. Margie will be 72 years of age on November 7th, 2012.
