KIKO ALVAREZ BIOGRAPHY
Kiko Alvarez started his singing career in 1963. For several years he sang in clubs on San Antonio's famed River Walk. He became a member of the cast of "Sal y Pimienta", a television variety show that was telecast to major cities throughout the Spanish television network.
Kiko spent more than 25 years as produce manager for one of the largest grocery store chains in the State of Texas. In 1985, he and his wife Nora decided to go into business for themselves. They opened a restaurant on San Antonio's East Side, spending long hours as the cooks and waiters. The little money they made they placed back into the business. Often times they didn't even make enough to pay themselves. After seven years, they decided to call it quits; they sold the restaurant.
Kiko was raised in a Christian environment, his parents were believers. However, it was in the mid-1960's, that he remembers really hearing the Gospel. His record producer, Manny Guerra, had become a believer and was sharing his new found faith with everyone who came into the studio. The seed of God's Good News was sown in his heart.
Twenty-five years later, in 1985, as Kiko sat in his living room watching television, he heard a powerful message by a television evangelist inviting him to come to Jesus. Kiko surrendered his life to the Lord, and joined a local church. He studied God's Word and learned about his new found Savior. His wife joined him by surrendering her life to the Lord also.
In 1991, Kiko and Nora were invited to share their testimony at a local church. Little did they know that this was the beginning of God's calling on their life. In six short years they have traveled to more than 300 towns and cities throughout the United States, Mexico and Central America, with repeat visits to many of those cities. As an Evangelist, Kiko has commitments two years in advance.
Kiko and Nora Alvarez feel truly blessed that God would use them to reach others. They will continue to sow the seed of the Gospel, as someone did with them.
